FishingTake a short scenic drive to the Mt. Hood National Forest and recreational area and enjoy skiing, snowboarding, hiking, camping and fishing, or a days outing at the Wildwood Recreation Site only 14 miles east of Sandy. Visit the Sandy Fish Hatchery or the Rainbow Trout Farm where you will find several stocked ponds and picnic facilities. For desert, just a few miles east of Sandy, visit the Oregon Candy Farm where you will find delicious chocolates created using old traditional methods of cooking, molding and shaping. Be sure to visit the Michael Maiden Foundry and Art Gallery and the Sandy Historical Museum where you will view a collection of artifacts, archives and photographs of Sandy's history.

If that isn't enough to do, Sandy creates its own fun right downtown every summer with the Sandy Mountain Festival and Music Fair and Feast in July, as well as Music in the Park at the Meinig Memorial Park all summer long. Or, take in a play performed by Sandy Community Players at the local live theater.

There is something for everyone young and old year round in Sandy. For the younger generation, Fantasy Forest in Meinig Memorial Park offers a large play area with wooden structures to roam and explore. In addition, Cedar Ridge Middle School boasts a 10,000 square foot skate park that was designed by Sandy's own local skaters. For seniors, the Sandy Senior center offers daily activities from field trips to aerobics as well as a tasty lunch.
